Rm Risky Business Sets Top Mark in Sale Stakes Futurity Trials at Evergreen Park

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB—AUGUST 7, 2021—Rm Risky Business broke his maiden at first asking today while setting the fastest qualifying time for the Sale Stakes Futurity at Evergreen Park.

The eight fastest qualifiers, from two trials contested today for 2-year-old who passed thru the AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale last September, will return to Evergreen Park on Saturday, August 21st to vie for the winner's share of the $21,696(CAN) purse.

Under jockey Larris Allen Rm Risky Business defeated second fastest qualifier Destello de Luna by a half-a-length while stopping the clock in :16.424 seconds for 300 yards into a 20 mph crosswind.

A $2,000 repurchase at the AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale, Rm Risky Business races for WT Ranch. Buckey Stockwell conditions the son of Cowboy 109 from the Mighty Invictus mare Miss Invictus Eh. Robert McCutcheon is the breeder.

Coming off a third-place finish in the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity on July 2nd. Destello de Luna held on for the second fastest clocking of :16.521 seconds. The $4,400 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale graduate races for owners Jane Leech and Haley Moreno.

Jockey Ricardo Moreno had the riding call aboard the son of Lethal N First for trainer William Leech. Winless in three starts, Destello de Luna has earned $7,131 this year. Bred by Ken McFarlane, the brown gelding is out of A Mere Toast by Toast To Dash.

Top Shelf 109, under jockey Larris Allen, broke his maiden in the opening trial to get the third fastest time of :16.596 seconds into a 20 mph crosswind. Also trained by Stockwell the son of Special Fly Bye races for owner Robert McCutcheon.

Buckey and Beverly Stockwell bred the $5,000 AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale repurchase from the Favorite Cartel mare See Me Do It Too. The third dam is the AQHA Racing World Champion See Me Do It. Top Shelf 109 has earned $2,459 in two starts.

Timbers Moon, a son of leading Canadian sire First Timber, finished a head back in the opening trial to record the fourth fastest time of :16.611 seconds. The $22,500 repurchase at the AQHRA Canada QH Cup Yearling Sale races for owner-breeders Brant and Dakota Laczo. Brant also trains the colt out of Wakeup Miss Moon by Wakeup Runnin.
