FARMINGTON, NM–MAY 22, 2022–SunRay Park’s $75,000 Four Corners Futurity ended in a dead-heat Sunday between Mr Red White N Blue and Kj Wicked Wanda. La Brujita Mayor finished a nose back in a blanket-finish to take third.
Ridden by brothers Christian Ramos and Adrian Ramos Mr Red White N Blue and Kj Wicked Wanda completed the 350 yards in :17.474 seconds, equaling a 99 speed index into a 14 mph crosswind. The pair split the combined first and second-place purse money to earn $30,000 apiece for their efforts.
Mr Red White N Blue is a $62,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate racing for owner Triple R Racing Stables LLC. James J. Gonzalez III trains the son of multiple stakes sire Jet Black Patriot from the Mr Jess Perry mare Thrill And Grace. Christian Ramos was up.
It was the first win in two starts for the Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP Texas bred gelding. He has banked $31,100.
Kj Wicked Wanda, racing for owners John Lee, Kathy Lee and Ruben Mares, got her second win in three starts for trainer Wesley Giles. The daughter of second-crop sire Apollitical Spirit is out of the First Moonflash mare Kj Hotflash. Bred by John and Kathy Lee, Kj Wicked Wanda has earned $33,430.

La Brujita Mayor picked up $7,500 for finishing third. Eric Valenzuela trains the Oklahoma-bred daughter of champion Ec Jet One for owners Julie Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez. Carla Moody bred the brown filly from the Stoli mare Symphonic. Sergio Dominguez had the riding call.
Completing the field were Million Air Eagle, Lake Havasu, Vgk Zigfield Girl, W R Aces Up, Brileys Fast Prize, Restrictions and Everythingyouneed.
