GRANDE PRAIRIE, TEXAS–NOVEMBER 26, 2022–Livewires Turnpike clocked the fastest qualifying time to the $70,000 estimated Texas Hero Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park. The two-year-old gelding won the third of three trials held for the 400-yard Futurity on a sloppy track Saturday night.

With Cody Smith in the irons, Livewires Turnpike took the lead by the second call, then quickly separated himself from the pack for a 2 1/4-length win and the fastest qualifying time by over 4/10ths of a second. The post-time favorite clocked a 96 speed index in :19.653 seconds.
