2012 Leading Sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon to Royal Vista Ranches

WAYNE, OK—AUGUST 8, 2012—This year's leading sire of money earners Pyc Paint Your Wagon will stand the 2013 season at Royal Vista Ranches near Wayne, Oklahoma. The 9-year-old son of leading sire Corona Cartel will join a stallion roster that includes his full brother Ivory James, who was last year's leading first crop sire.

From three crops to race Pyc Paint Your Wagon has rocketed to the top of the industries leading sires lists. After garnering the Leading 1st Year and 2nd Year Sire of Money Earners spot, this year he is currently to the 2012 Leading sire of Money Earners with earners of nearly $2.4 million through August 8. His leading money earner this season is Remington Park Futurity winner Lota Pyc ($308,878), who is currently in Ruidoso training for the All American Futurity(G1) trials next week.

In three crops to race, Pyc Paint Your Wagon has sired 156 winners, 27 stakes winners, 27 stakes-placed with earnings of $7.03 million. His foals have average earnings per starter of more than $24,000. Among his leading money earners are Freighttrain B SI 115 ($421,761), Lota Pyc ($308,878 at 2, 2012), First Painted Sigh SI 104 ($284,911), Cruzin The Wagon SI 106 ($238,832), etc.

Bred and owned by Michael Pohl, the brown stallion won or placed in 13 of 17 career starts, earning $889,581. He won the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), Texas Classic Derby(G1), Heritage Place Derby(G1) and Lazy E Futurity(RG2) and finished second in the Rainbow Futurity(G1) and Championship at Sunland Park(G1).

Pyc Paint Your Wagon is out of the blue-hen mare Dashin Follies. The daughter of leading broodmare sire Strawfly Special has the distinction of being the highest selling broodmare at public auction, when she brought $875,000 at the 2010 Winter Mixed Heritage Place Sale in Oklahoma City. She is the dam of nine ROM including GR1 placed and leading sire Ivory James ($220,026), RG3 placed Eye Follies ($101,315), G3 placed Follies Bergere ($31,198), G1 finalist Coronita Cartel ($41,724), etc. The second dam is AQHA Racing world champion Dashing Folly ($535,841), by First Down Dash.
