Q-RACING JOURNAL—JULY 29, 2014—On Sunday, freshman sire Man On The Move got his first stakes winner when Girlonthego won the $392,253 Zia Futurity (RG1).

The brown filly won the race by a nose, and has now won three of five starts. Her career earnings stand at $173,696. Girlonthego is out of the Devon Lane (TB) mare Devons Wish, making her a half sister to stakes winner Wish You Had One To (by Stel Corona, $143,594). Girlonthego was bred by Terrance Lane of Bosque, New Mexico, and is owned by Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vazquez of Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Man On The Move is an 8-year-old son of The Down Side out of the Strawfly Special mare High Kickin Gal. The stallion made 10 career starts, with three wins, three seconds and earnings of $206,369. He, too, won the Zia Futurity (RG1) in his biggest career race, and in 2010 retired with a career-high speed index of 94.

From a freshman foal crop of 13, Man On The Move has sired six starters, and two winners, with earners of more than $180,000.

Man On The Move is a half brother to stakes winner Blazin Perfection (by Chicks A Blazin, $255,640). His dam is a half sister to Grade 1 winner Chick On The Take (by Chicks Beduino, $168,370).

Owned by a partnership, Man On The Move stands at TNL Farm at Bosque, New Mexico.
