WYNNEWOOD, OK—SEPTEMBER 14, 2014—Apollitical Jess, the 2010 AQHA Racing World Champion and leading first crop sire of money earners in 2014, sired his first stakes winner Saturday when Ajs High won the $50,490 John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge.
Ridden by Stormy Smith, the Charley Hunt trainee completed the 350 yards in :17.542 seconds to earn a 96 speed index. The Oklahoma homebred races for Michael Teel. Ajs High is out of the Rare Form mare Regally Rare and has won two of four starts this season earning nearly $60,000. He is expected to make his next start in the $150,000 Guaranteed John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) on Saturday, October 18 during the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at Prairie Meadows.

Bred by Juan Alberto Tirado Lizarraga and campaigned by Rancho el Cabresto Inc., Apollitical Jess won eight of 14 career starts and banked $1,399,831. As a 2-year-old, he finished second in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1) and then as a 3-year-old took second in the All American Derby (G1) before ending his season and racing career with consecutive Grade 1 wins in the Los Alamitos Super Derby and Champion of Champions. That earned him the titles of champion 3-year-old colt, champion 3-year-old and world champion.
Apollitical Jess is a son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry out of champion Apollitical Time, who won 10 stakes and more than $900,000 in her career.
