Leading First Crop Sire Zulu Dragon To Join Roster at Bar Y Equine

BERINO, NM—NOVEMBER 12, 2016—Leading "first crop" sire Zulu Dragon will join the stallion roster for 2017 at Bar Y Equine near Berino, New Mexico. His fee will remain $6,000. Breeders who book no later than January 31, 2017 can get a break for $5,500. Special consideration will be given to stakes proven mares and multiple mare bookings.

Owned by Zulu Dragon LLC , Zulu Dragon has been at the top of the "leading first crop sires" money earners list for almost the entire year.

From a limited number of only eight starters, Zulu Dragon has sired 5 winners (63%), 2 stakes winners (25%), and earners of nearly $653,000 with average earnings per starters of over $81,600.

Zulu Dragon won or placed in 12 races and earned $180,000. He won the Grade 2 James Isaac Hobbs Stakes and the Grade 3 La Plata Stakes. He was second in the West Texas Maturity(G3), KOFX-FM Radio Handicap(G3), Mr Jess Moore Handicap(G3) and third in the Lovington Stakes(G3).

Zulu Dragon's sire First Down Dash has sired earners of more than $84.6 million and 36 champions.

His dam is the RG1 winning Dean Miracle mare Hidden Dragon SI 104 ($165,347), dam of 13 ROM.
