Multiple Grade 2 Winner Giorgino Returns To Texas

WEATHERFORD, TX—NOVEMBER 9, 2016—Multiple Grade 2 winner Giorgino will stand the 2017 season at Scarlett Hill Farm near Weatherford, Texas. His fee has been set at $1,200.

From a limited number of starters in his first crop to race Giorgino has sired seven winners including $46,100 TQHA Futurity finalist A Salty Corona SI 90 (2 wins at 2, $9,628), Georgina Special SI 92 (2 wins at 2, $8,508), Giorgito Dee Dee (Winner at 2, $5,503), Mr Giorgino SI 83 (Winner at 2, $4,158), etc.

Owned by Esmeralda Peck, Giorgino won or placed in 16 of 28 starts, earning $326,117 while winning the Sunland Park Winter Futurity(G2), TQHA Sire's Cup Futurity(G2) and Delta Juvenile Challenge(G3). He was second in the Sam Houston Challenge Championship(G1), Miss Polly Classic and Prairie Meadows Bonus Challenge. He was third in the Sam Houston Classic(G2) and Keokuk Stakes(G3).

A multiple grade 1 contender, Giorgino also qualified to the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) Rainbow Derby(G1), Ruidoso Derby(G1), AQHA Challenge Championship(G1) and Remington Park Invitational Championship(G1).

The son of leading Thoroughbred sire Apollo is out of multiple Grade 1 placed First Down Dash mare Las Alamitos. An earner of $202,480, she finished second in the PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G1), third in the Governor's Cup Derby(RG1) and was a finalist in the Los Alamitos Million Futurity(G1) and Los Alamitos Derby(G1). Las Alamitos is the dam of 14 ROM, six stakes horses including Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner and multiple stakes sire Ragazzo ($559,500), G2 winner Giorgino (see above), stakes winner and G3 placed Features Lucky Charm ($42,926), G1-placed Potenzza SI 93 (2 wins at 2, $151,754, 3rd Rainbow Futurity-G1), and stakes-placed Las Pink Panther ($21,474).
