TNL Farm Announces Two Additions

BOSQUE, NM—FEBRUARY 2, 2017—TNL Farm, Inc. announced this week two additional stallions to their 2017 stallion roster—Grade 1 winner Osbaldo and the stakes winning and stakes siring Thoroughbred Swissel Stick will stand the 2017 season at the farm near Bosque, New Mexico.

Osbaldo

Restricted Grade 1 winner Osbaldo has won or placed in 20 races while earning $452,775. The son of leading New Mexico sire Jesse James Jr won the Jess Burner Memorial Handicap(RG1), New Mexican Spring Futurity(RG2), New Breeders' Futurity(RG2), Lineage Championship(RG3) and Zoom Zoom Stakes. He was placed in the Zia Handicap(RG2), New Mexico Breeders' Championship(RG3) and a finalist in the New Mexico State Fair Senor Futurity(RG3), New Mexico State Fair Breeder's Derby(RG3) and Jimmy Drake Stakes.

His first foals will race in 2017.

Osbaldo is out of the unraced Chicks A Blazin mare Shes So Blazin. The second dam the Grade 2 placed daughter of all-time leading sire First Down Dash, Best To Be First SI 97 ($37,913), a half-sister to stakes winner Ladies N Jens SI 108 ($85,511), stakes-placed Reeking Havoc SI 97 ($80,840) and stakes-placed Deans A List SI 102 ($73,302).

This is the family of Golden State Million Futurity(G1) winner Igotyourtac SI 88 ($577,067), 2013 Golden State Derby(G1) winner Scoop Of Sunshine SI 93 ($200,224), RG2-placed Budder Think Twice SI 87 ($134,745 at 2), G3 winner Budderfly Effect SI 127 ($69,987), etc.

A homebred for owner/breeder Hubaldo Solis, Osbaldo will stand for a 2017 fee of $1,500.

Swissle Stick (TB)

Swissle Stick, a multiple stakes-placed Thoroughbred owned by Cuadra San Juditas LLC, brought a final bid of $600,000 from Bob and Beverly Lewis as a 2-year-old at the annual Barretts Sale in California, drawing rave reviews when he zipped a furlong in 10.2 then came back a week later to post the fastest quarter mile breeze in 21 flat!

"21 flat, what can you say?" Lewis' trainer D. Wayne Lucas said following the purchase.

From five crops to race, Swissel Stick has sired 26 ROM, 24 winners and earnings of $914,581. His top performers include SIPPIN TB (5 wins, $217,047, Permian Basin Stakes, etc.), Swiss Chris SI 99 (6 wins, $158,839, 2nd NM Classic Cup 870 Championship, etc.), Storm Of Roses TB (13 wins to 3, 2016, $39,476, 3rd Casey Darnell Pony Ex press S. [R]), White Russsian SI 88 (2 wins at 2, 2016, $22,351, 2nd Four Corners Fut.), Bilingual SI 88 (winner, 3rd Dixie Downs Fut.), Swissle On SI 95 (5 wins, $63,751).

A multiple stakes-placed winner of seven races and $132,656, Swissle Stick finished third in the Charles Town Dash Invitational Handicap and Anderson Fowler Stakes. He was also a finalist in the Gold Rush Derby(G3), Texas Glitter Handicap and Tyro Stakes. He consistently broke on top and set blazing early fractions, while running the ¼ in :21.28 and half in :43.05.

His sire Swiss Yodeler is a grade 1 winner and sire of earners of more than $29 million including Breeders' Cup Sprint(G1) winner and Champion Thor's Echo ($2,441,990).

Swissle Stick, is a half-brother to multiple grade 1 winner Brother Derek ($1,611,138), winner of the Santa Anita Derby(G1) and Hollywood Futurity(G1) and fourth as the morning-line favorite in Barbaro's Kentucky Derby(G1). He is also a half-brother to stakes winner Don'tsellmeshort ($402,365), stakes winner Sister Kate ($282,186), etc. His second dam is a stakes winning daughter of Relaunch.

Swissel Stick will stand for a 2017 fee of $1,000.
