PLEASANTON, TX—MARCH 22, 2017—Multiple stakes winner The Ocean King, a half-brother to two AQHA Racing champions and leading sires, will begin his stallion career this season at Zerlotti Genetics Ltd. near Pleasanton, Texas. His fee has been set at $1,000. Stakes winners and stakes producers can breed for the $500 booking fee only.

Competing on racetracks in six different states, the son of leading living sire Corona Cartel won or placed in 13 races and earned $96,652. He won the Signature Stakes, City Of Hialeah Stakes and Robel Rojo Stakes. The Ocean King was second in the Grade 2 Eastex Stakes, Dash For Speed Stakes and third in the Grade 2 KOFX-Fox Radio Handicap. He was also a finalist in the Grade 1 Leo Stakes, Grade 2 West Texas Maturity, Grade 3 Higheasterjet Handicap and PCQHRA Derby.

Bred by Lucas Racing Inc., The Ocean King was campaigned by owners Hugo Barron Sierra, Denise and Ronald Van Amburgh and trained by Jose Manuel Barron and Matt Frazier.

His sire Corona Cartel is the sire of 8 champions, 157 stakes winners with earnings of nearly $60 million. Among his top performers are world champion Blues Girl Too SI 103 ($2.032,328) and champion and multiple stakes sire Teller Cartel SI 108 ($1,212,471), champion Five Bar Cartel SI 91 ($1,068,825), etc.
