RATLIFF CITY, OK—SEPTEMBER 4, 2017—Jess Send Candy, the dam of two-time champion All American Futurity winner Jess Good Candy died Thursday (Aug. 31) from colic.

Owned by Rozella Pevehouse's PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC, the daughter of Mr Jess Perry is the dam eight foals of racing age, all ROM, six winners, four stakes winners and a champion.

"She was the backbone of our broodmare program," Cheryl Pevehouse said Sunday. "One of the reflections of my father's (Carl) years of developing the stellar bloodline that is now sought after. She will be greatly missed," she added.

Jess Send Candy's son, Jess Good Candy, was named the AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old and Champion 2-Year-Old Colt in 2015. The son of champion Good Reason SA was undefeated in eight starts to three and earned $2,014,703.

He won the All American Futurity(G1), Ruidoso Derby(G1) and Mr Master Bug Handicap. He began his stallion career at Lazy E Ranch near Guthrie, Oklahoma in 2017.

Jess Send Candy is also the dam of Grade 2 winner This Candys Awesome ($434,265), stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Send Me This Wagon ($179,310 to 6, 2017) and stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Honeymoon Candy ($93,877 to 5, 2017).

The second dam is Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity winner Send Me The Candy by Leading Memories. She produced 21 ROM from 25 foals including three stakes winners and three stakes-placed. Send Me The Candy is out of Pevehouse's foundation mare Send Me Candy by Tinys Gay.

Jess Send Candy has two embryos coming by Pyc Paint Your Wagon and Good Reason SA.
