Champion KVN Corona Arrives in Oklahoma

GUTHRIE, OK—DECEMBER 6, 2018—AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Colt Kvn Corona arrived in Oklahoma Wednesday via airplane from the West Coast where he had been under the direction of champion trainer Paul C. Jones.

The son of leading sire Corona Cartel was taken to his new home Lazy E Ranch, near Guthrie, where he will begin preparations for the 2019 breeding season. His fee has been set at $5,000.

Owned and raced by Keith Nellesen, Kvn Corona is one of only six horses to ever win nine or more consecutive races at Los Alamitos and is the only stallion in the elite group of Champions consisting of Corona Chick, Snowbound Superstar, Charger Bar, Moonist and Sign Of Lanty.

Kvn Corona is also the only one of those six horses that was undefeated in six starts at Los Alamitos in a two-year-old Championship season.

"This is a horse you can believe in," said Lazy E Ranch's Butch Wise, who has guided the breeding career of such stallions as No. 1 all-time leading sire Corona Cartel.

KVN Corona won or placed in 11 of 13 career starts and banked $868,077. He won the Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1), PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G2) and El Primero Del Ano Derby(G3). He was second in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) and a finalist in the Ruidoso Derby(G1).
