KENNEWICK, WA—MAY 6, 2013—Sherman Hadley's Feature Miss Alibi punched her tickets for the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night November 4, by winning the Merial Northwest Distaff Challenge on Sunday afternoon at Sun Downs.
The 4-year-old filly defeated The Streakin Clean by a length under jockey Jordan Hadley. L Bar D Snow Princes finished a head back in third.
Susan Hadley conditions the Feature Mr Jess filly out of Alibi Fame, by DashTa Fame. The three-time winner scored the biggest payday of her career, earning $11,578 to boost her earnings total to $20,618. She completed the 400 yard course in a speedy :19.820 seconds, a 102 speed index.
Tony Greaves bred the first time stakes winner in Utah.
The Streakin Clean is owned by Leonardo and Javier Olmos and trained by Monty Arrossa. A 4-year-old daughter of Streakin La Jolla, she earned $4,945 for the effort. Joe Crispin rode the Arizona bred from the Corona Cocktail mare Theslatesclean. H & E Racing, Inc. is the breeder.
Last year's Merial Northwest Challenge winner L Bar D Snow Princes bobbled the break and had to settle for third. Owned by Gerardo Sanguino and trained by Donald Young the 7-year-old mare added $2,412 to her bankroll total of $55,538. Darrel and Linda Sanders bred L Bar D Snow Princes in Oregon from the Strawfly Special mare Dash Home Deb.
A Regal Blue Sky, Ez Gamer, Sheza Quick Chick, Clear Blue Sea and Chivata Lane completed the field.
