SELMA, TX—JULY 26, 2014—Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches, LP's Tallulah Moon posted an impressive 1¼ length trial victory Saturday night to post the top qualifying time for the John Deere Retama Juvenile.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from the 79 AQHA Racing Challenge enrolled 2-year-olds who participated in nine trial races, will return to the South Texas racetrack on Saturday, August 9th and vie for the winner's share of the $25,000-added purse. Also at stake will be a invite to the $150,000 Guaranteed John Deere Juvenile Championship(G2) to be run October 18th at Prairie Meadows.

Coming off a disappointing effort when she hesitated in the Rainbow Futurity trials at Ruidoso Downs July 4, Tallulah Moon bounced off that race to clock the top qualifying mark of :17.984 seconds against a 22 mph headwind. The Mike Robbins trainee was the only two-year-old to break the 18 second barrier on Saturday night.

Jose Alvarez had the riding assignment aboard the Corona Cartel filly from the Mr Jess Perry mare Splendifferous. Fulton purchased the filly for $77,000 at the 2013 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale from Julianna Hawn Holt.

Freakin Runway, another Ruidoso Sale graduate, won the seventh trial to post the second fastest time of :18.078 seconds. Runner-up to Million Dollar Kiss in the John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile in his last start, the Ocean Runaway gelding races for owner Michael Amburn. Guy Hopkins conditions the $30,000 purchase out of Streakin Freakin, by Streakin La Jolla. Luis Ramirez had the riding call.
