AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 23, 2014—Joltin Jess, a 6-year-old Take Off Jess gelding racing for Glenn L. Graff and a two-time stakes winner during the 2013-14 Hialeah Park winter meet, is one of nine aged sprinters entered in the 440-yard, $70,920 Bank of America Ajax Championship Challenge at Ajax Downs on Tuesday.

Conditioned by Greg Watson, Joltin Jess is coming off of a second-place finish as the 2-1 favorite in the 400-yard, $43,000 Bradford Stakes at Indiana Grand Racecourse. The gelding won two of his four outs at Hialeah, both stakes.

Joltin Jess drew the rail post and will be ridden by Shanley Jackson.

John S. Wilson’s Mitford, a 4-year-old Ivory James gelding trained by Scott Reid, has been a prompt favorite in all three of his starts during the current Ajax meet. Mitford’s record includes a half-length victory as the 4-5 choice in the 350-yard, $86,000 Picov Maturity on June 29.
