ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 28, 2014—A total of 15 aged sprinters, including graded stakes winner Slew Of Success, have been entered in Saturday’s 440-yard Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge (G2) trials.

A 4-year-old son of Cartel Success racing for Mary Passmore Kirby from the barn of trainer Jackie Kirby, Slew Of Success won all four of his outs and earned $173,136 during the Remington Park spring meet. The gelding’s record at the Oklahoma City track included a head victory against state-breds in the 400-yard, $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) on May 3.

Slew Of Success won two other Oklahoma-bred stakes at Remington. Jesus Salazar will ride the gelding from post 2 in the first of two trials.

Slew Of Success’ opponents in the first heat include Habits Secret, a 4-year-old stallion by No Secrets Here owned and trained by Ricardo Martinez. Habits Secret is coming off of a half-length victory in the 400-yard, $43,000 Bradford Stakes at Indiana Grand Racecourse on July 5.

Jerry Windham’s Stimulus, a homebred 4-year-old gelding by champion Mr Jess Perry, drew post 6 in the second trial. Trained by Charley Hunt, Stimulus has won two of three outs this season, including the 400-yard, $38,000 TQHA Classic Stakes (R) at Retama Park on July 25.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $70,000-added Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge final on September 13. The winner of that race will earn a berth in the 440-yard, $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Prairie Meadows on October 18.
