SELMA, TX—AUGUST 8, 2016—Dan Grube’s Desdemona Rambler, a homebred son of champion Tempting Dash and the fastest qualifier, is one of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Saturday’s 350-yard, $75,870 John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge at Retama Park.
Trained by Brian Stroud, Desdemona Rambler has earned $64,000 from four starts, and his resume includes a third-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Just Call Me Carter, in the 330-yard, $540,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) on April 23. The colt is coming off of a 1 3/4-length win in the first of six John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge trials on July 30.
Desdemona Rambler drew post 4 and will be ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr.
Borger Boy, a Bigtime Favorite gelding trained by Antonio Delgado Sr. for owner David L. Martinez, drew post 9 and will be ridden by Cipriano Vidana. Borger Boy ran third, a neck behind winner Take The Cup, in the 300-yard, $50,000 West Texas Juvenile Stakes at Sunland Park on April 30.

Trained by Brian Stroud for owners J. Leann Nalls and James R. Hrabovsky, Tellereyematthebar earned his first victory of his sophomore campaign in the last of three trials on July 29. The homebred Teller Cartel gelding will be ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr.
Holly Hooper’s My Moment Of Fame, a gelded son of Jumpn Chic, drew post 10 and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco for trainer Angel Sanchez. My Moment Of Fame has earned $27,730 from four outs this season, and his two wins include a three-quarter length victory against Texas-breds in the 330-yard, $15,000 Ben E. Keith Stakes (R) at Retama on June 25.
