GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB—SEPTEMBER 1, 2016—Graded stakes winner Cruisinfourabruisin held off Mals First Down Sunday (Aug. 28) to win the $26,999(US) Bank of America Evergreen Park Championship Challenge. Tiny Flying Corona finished a head back in the blanket finish for third.

Ridden by jockey Jose Rocha, the 4-year-old son of leading Canadian sire First Timber completed the 440 yard distance in :21.929 seconds, a 101 speed index over muddy racetrack into a 10 mph crosswind

Racing for owner/breeders Barry and Janie Sather, Cruisinfourabruisin got his 11th career win and used the $14,037(US) winner's purse to boost his career total to $112,627. The victory also secured the sorrel gelding a starting spot in the Grade 1 $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship on October 29th at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Trained by Janice Sather, Cruisinfourabruisin is out of the Royal Evening Snow mare Tagulator. The multiple stakes winner has compiled a (27) 11-9-3 lifetime record.

Trainer William Leech saddled runner-up Mals First Down for owners Charlie Weaselhead and Jim Plume. Scott Sterr had the riding call on the stakes winning son of Shazoom from the First Down Dash mare First A Princess. The $6,210(US) runner-up check brings his career earnings mark to $38,670.

Leech also saddled third place finisher Tiny Flying Corona. The multiple stakes winning Tinys First Corona gelding races for Charles Stojan. Bred in California by Parsons Limited Family Partnership, the 6-year-old earned $3,105(US) for the effort. He is out of the Chicks Beduino mare Pj Phoebes Flying.

Chicks R Gone and Go Corona Luminaire completed the field.

Kr Streakin Version Wins Evergreen Park Distance Challenge

Multiple stakes winner Kr Streakin Version raced to his third consecutive sin on Sunday (Aug.28) when he defeated Asbigastexas by one-length in the $19,981(US) Evergreen Park Distance Challenge. Stole Away finished 1˝ lengths back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Freddy Fuentes, Kr Streakin Version raced over the muddy 870 yard track in :45.474 seconds to earn a 102 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. The $9,988(US) boosted the son of Latest Versions earnings total to $85,922.

Laurie Ferguson conditions the 8-year-old multiple stakes winner for owners Marvin Christensen and Richard Aldoff. Hemstad, Perry and Kyler bred Kr Streakin Version in Montana from the Streakin La Jolla mare Streakin Miss Tina.

The win also secures Kr Streakin Version a starting spot in the Grade Distance Challenge Championship on October 29th at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Alberta-bred Asbigastexas earned $4,295(US) for finishing second. Robert Gwilliam trains the stakes winning son of Birdzilla (TB) for owner Deanna Davies. Sazwan Speed Horses bred the 7-year-old from the Dashing Val mare Sables Val. Scott Sterr had the riding call.

Stole Away, a Stoli gelding out of Jess Go by Mr Jess Perry, races for owner/trainer Donalda Cochrane. Bullard Farms and Burnett Ranches bred the 5-year-old in Texas. Ridden by Jose Rocha Stole Away earned $2,198(US).

Tequila Tuesday, Awise Secret and Kr Howdoyoulikemenow completed the field.
