Challenge Championships and Conference Set Next Week

Q-RACING JOURNAL—OCTOBER 18, 2016—The Bank of America Racing Challenge Championships and Racing Conference kick off next week at Los Alamitos Race Course in Los Alamitos, California, on October 26 through October 29.

The festivities open on Wednesday, October 26, at 10:30 a.m. with the postposition draw in the Finish Line Room at the track.

On Thursday, AQHA hosts a racing affiliate workshop beginning at 9 a.m. This event is open to all racing affiliates.

The racing committee meeting begins at 9 a.m. on Friday. There are several speakers on board to address those in attendance, highlighted by Dr. Scott Stanley, the head of the K.L. Maddy Equine Analytical Lab at the University of California – Davis, as he discusses hair testing.

“Anticipating that this testing procedure will be utilized with increased regularity in the different racing jurisdictions, we wanted to offer our membership clarification on the subject, and put to rest some confusion,” said Chief Racing Officer Janet VanBebber.

A welcome reception kicks off that evening at 5 p.m., with the Friday night races following.

The Bank of America Challenge Championships are Saturday, October 29.

Additionally, Los Alamitos will run the $1 million Golden State Million Futurity (G1) the following night, October 30.
