EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA—MAY 5, 2017—Charles G. Stojan’s Toughie, a graded stakes winning daughter of Stel Corona, will make her first start in more than six months in Saturday’s 330-yard, $20,000 Markel Northlands Park Bonus Challenge Stakes at Northlands Park.
A 4-year-old California-bred mare trained by William Leech, Toughie is coming off of a sophomore campaign during which she won four of six races, including two stakes, and ran third, a half of a length behind winner Jess Good Reason, in the 400-yard, $202,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G2) at Los Alamitos on October 29.
Toughie drew post 6 and will be ridden by Ricardo Moreno.
