Miss Ramblin Moon Wins Chippewa Downs Challenge

BELCOURT, ND—JULY 1, 2017—Under jockey Duane Salvino, Miss Ramblin Moon drove to a half-length win over Catcha Breeze in the $4,550 Chippewa Downs Challenge (not black type) Saturday afternoon at Chippewa Downs.

Owned-and-trained by Perry Cavanaugh, Miss Ramblin Moon completed the 350 yard task in :18.140 seconds to earn a 91 speed index. The $1,911 winner's purse boosted her career earnings to $6,835.

Randal Schwartz bred the 3-year-old daughter of Ima Ramblin On in North Dakota from the Major Rime mare Major Lunar Eclipse. She has compiled an (11) 3-2-0 record.

Runner-up Catcha Breeze, a 5-year-old Ivory James mare owned by Randy Reuer and Sharlene Lynn, picked up $819 for second. B/M Eiland and Harris Racing Stable Inc. bred the brown mare in Texas from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jessy Jane.

Jeff and Eva Hepper's Bodacious Prize finished 1-˝ lengths back in third for trainer Junior Dolphus. Terry Bennett rode the Bodacious Dash filly out of Fast Prize Rose by Mr Jess Perry. Bred in Texas by Rigo and Sally Flores, she earned $592.

Dynasty Time, Chicks Skidoo, Lots Of Lajolla and Winning Script completed the field. Park Avenue Air was scratched.
