Grade John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge Heads Saturday Stakes on Zia Weekend

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 25, 2017—The Grade 3, $59,850 John Deere Ruidoso Downs Juvenile CHallenge, with undefeated fastest-qualifier Runningallnight, tops three stakes races that highlight the racing action on Saturday of Zia Festival weekend at Ruidoso Downs.

The highly popular Zia Festival starts in Friday and runs through Sunday at Ruidoso Downs.

First post time is 1 p.m. on each day with free parking and free general admission.

The John Deere Ruidoso Downs Juvenile runs as the 10th race on the 11-race program. Also on the card is the $50,000 By By JJ (6th race) and the $20,000 Bobby Dan Crenshaw (1st race) (see related story).

Dalia Aranda’s Runningallnight is two-for-two and makes his stakes debut in the John Deere Ruidoso Downs Juvenile. The son of Stel Corona won his maiden by one-and-one-half lengths at SunRay Park on June 4. He came back in the fourth of six John Deere Ruidoso Downs Juvenile trials and raced to the fastest-qualifying mark of :17.735 for 350 yards.

Trainer Jose Luis Galvan will have Raul Herrera on Runningallnight with the fifth post position.

Louis Howard’s Syms Tlc is reaching peak form for trainer John Stinebaugh. He was third in a Remington Park maiden race, second in his trial to the Grade 1, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity and then won his John Deere Ruidoso Downs Juvenile trial. He raced to a three-quarter-length win in his trial with G.R. Carter Jr. aboard.

Carter is up again with the third post position.
