John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge Trials Set for Saturday

SELMA, TX—JULY 25, 2018—Fifty-six 2-year-olds, topped by graded stakes winner FM Im A Zatanaz Too, have been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Challenge trials at Retama Park.

Trained by Ismael Solis-Guevara for owner Jose Fabian Hernandez, FM Im A Zatanaz Too has earned $243,295 from four races in Texas and Louisiana, and his three wins include a neck victory in the 330-yard, $441,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park. The gelded son of champion Tempting Dash drew the rail post and will be ridden by Manuel Gutierrez in the last of six trials.

Juan Salinas’ Hesgonnabesomebody drew post 4 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the first heat. A Victor Gonzalez, the son of champion FDD Dynasty will be making his first start since April 28, when he ran fourth, 1 3/4 lengths behind FM Im A Zatanaz Too, in the Sam Houston Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 18, $30,000-added John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Challenge final.
