Mick Lovin Wins AQHA-EISF Bonus Challenge With Authority

BLACKFOOT, ID—SEPTEMBER 8, 2018—Mick Lovin, a 4-year-old son of Im Alright Now, defeated Betrothern by one-length in the $6,500 AQHA - EISF Bonus Challenge (not black type) Saturday at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. Eyes By Corona finished a neck back in third.

Ridden by jockey Leonardo Gonzalez, Mick Lovin raced over the 400 yards in a quick :19.995 clocking to earn a 101 speed index. It was the fifth career win in 13 starts for the brown gelding from the Streakin Jewel mare Micks Jewels.

Michael Monson trains Mick Lovin for owner River Run Ranch. The $3,380 Bonus' winner's purse boosted his earnings mark to $15,310. Broc and Dakri Gilstrap is the breeder.

Betrothen, a multiple stakes winning Walk Thru Fire mare, earned $1,439 for second. Mark Hanson saddled the 7-year-old out of Flo Jo Lady by Rare Bar. Owned by RTM Stables LLC, Betrothen has compiled a (30) 9-6-6 record and banked $63,630. Jesus Canales was riding.

Third-place finisher Eyes By Corona races for owner Movin On and trainer Steven Newman. Sunflower Supply Co bred the Fantastic Corona Jr gelding in Missouri from the Mr Eye Opener mare Miss Racy Eyes. He earned $ $1,015 and was ridden by Jesus Flores.

Rtm Mr Caccia and Cachocolatepie completed the field. Never Tell was scratched.
