AQHA Remington Park Distance Challenge Trials Draw a Dozen Aged Runners

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 26, 2019—Twelve distance specialists have been entered in Saturday’s 870-yard AQHA Remington Park Distance Challenge (G3) trials at Remington Park.

Ms Esther, a 5-year-old daughter of the Thoroughbred stallion Afrashad owned and trained by Jordan Baumann, is coming off of a head victory in the 870-yard, $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes (G3) on April 4. The mare has won five of her eight starts, including four of five at the 870 distance, and she has earned $78,992.

Ms Esther drew post 2 and will be ridden by Andrew Samaniego in the second of two trials.

Owner Rockin J Running Horses and trainer Tammy Johnson will send out three contenders, including Pauls Valley Stakes runner-up Jess A Hilbily Bone. A homebred 8-year-old Rock Solid Jess gelding, Jess A Hilbily Bone has won 11 of 47 races and has banked $210,507, of which $136,835 has been earned from 15 outs at Remington Park.

Jess A Hilbily Bone drew post 3 and will be ridden by Randy Wilson in the second heat.

The eight fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 12, $27,500-added AQHA Remington Park Distance Challenge final.
