Reliance Ranches With Four Strong Contenders In John Deere California Trials

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 2, 2019—Reliance Ranches LLC will have a strong quartet of 2-year-olds racing in a pair of trials to the John Deere California Juvenile Challenge on Saturday at Los Alamitos.

The horses with the 10 fastest times in the 350-yard trials will advance to the John Deere California final to be held here on August 17.

Reliance Ranches won the John Deere California regional final in 2017 thanks to SC Vapor Trail. The Oklahoma-based racing operation now has four aces racing in these trials with Giving Freely and SC South Sixteen looking tough in the first division and Lady Six Sky and Invader heading the way in the second division. Mike Robbins trains all four of these talented juveniles for Reliance Ranches.

Invader is the top name among the four, as he's already a two-time winner at Los Alamitos and a solid third place finisher in a trial to the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity. The Tres Seis gelding was purchased for $52,000 at the Ruidoso Yearling Sale. Among the others in the trials, Billy Doenz and Parsons Ranch's Lager Lady is one to watch after finishing in the money in three of her four career starts.
