Cm Singing The Blues Tops John Deere California Trials, Reliance Ranches Qualify Four

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 3, 2019—Randy Dickerson's Cm Singing The Blues closed well under jockey Cesar Franco in the first of two trials Saturday night for the John Deere California Juvenile Challenge to set the fastest qualifying time at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Due to several scratches in the two races, the nine horses who competed in the trials will all return to the Saturday, August 17th final. The winner will nnot only take home the biggest share of a $25,000-added purse but will also pick up a starting spot in the October 26th $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Championship(G2) during the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Returning to Los Alamitos after winning the Firecracker Futurity Consolation in Grants Pass, Oregon on July 4th, Cm Singing The Blues completed the 350 yards in :18.016 seconds, into a 4 mph headwind, to get the top qualifying mark.

Trainer Nick Lowe saddled the Dickerson Oregon-bred son of champion Inseperable from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Cool Blue Corona. Cm Singing the Blues has compiled a (5) 2-1-1 record this season and banked $6,479.

Trainer Mike Robbins saddled four qualifiers for Reliance Ranches LLC included co-second fastest qualifier Giving Freely, a daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel. The filly dead-heated with Kiss Fast Zoom in the opening trial to secure the second fasted time of :18.063 seconds.

Reliance Ranches other finalists include 4th fastest Sc South Sixteen, 5th fastest Invader (who won the second trial) and 6th fastest Lady Six Sky.

Kiss Fast Zoom, a daughter of #3 first-crop sire Kiss My Hocks, is the co-second fastest qualifier with Giving Freely. Monty Arrossa conditions the gelding for owner Five Livestock Company LLC.
