Signs Of A Blue Moon Tops John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Qualifiers

ALTOONA, IA—JULY 25, 2020—Thomas D. Lepic's homebred Signs Of A Blue Moon defeated Cant Deny Her by a head in the last of three trials Saturday night for the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge to get the top qualifying time.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from the three trial races, will return to Prairie Meadows on Friday, August 15th to vie for the winners' share of a $30,000-added purse. Also at stake is a starting spot in the Grade 2 $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship October 24th on Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at The Downs in Albuquerque.

Trainer Jason Olmstead saddled Signs Of A Blue Moon to her second consecutive win. Ridden by jockey Berkley Packer, the daughter of champion sire Tres Seis completed the 350 yards in :17.833 seconds, equaling an 89 speed index into a 5 mph headwind.

Lepic bred the filly in Oklahoma from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Signs Of Pyc. She has compiled a (4) 2-1-0 record and banked $15,463.

Cant Deny Her, a daughter of multiple stakes sire Capo de Capi, held for the second fastest clocking of :17.849 seconds. Brett Bizer had the riding call for trainer Shawna Manriquez. Karen Dixon owns the Oklahoma-bred out of Nolet by Stoli. Bred by N.R. Stevenson she has placed in four of five starts.
