RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 30, 2012—Llano Cartel and Fastpass Regard get to settle the score in the Grade 3, $60,030 John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge on Saturday at Ruidoso Downs after they finished in a dead heat in their trial and share the fastest-qualifying time.
First post time for the 10-race program is 1 p.m. with the 350-yard John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge running as the ninth race. There is always free parking and free general admission at Ruidoso Downs.

Wootan Racing’s homebred Llano Cartel won his maiden in his seventh career start when he finished on equal terms in his trial with Fastpass Regard. They were each timed in :17.493 for the 350 yards.
Llano Cartel showed potential this spring at Remington Park when he was second in the Remington Park Juvenile.
Esgar Ramirez has the mount on the gelded son of leading sire Teller Cartel with the third post position.
KH Logax Inc’s homebred Fastpass Regard has already made seven starts and has finished on the board in his latest five appearances. The gelding was second in a $25,500 allowance race at SunRay Park before his dead heat win in his John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge trial.
Jaime Parga Leos has the mount Chicks Regard gelding with the inside post position in the 10-horse field.
Rockin J Running Horses and Jack Manning’s Rockin Disco comes off a trial win with the third-fastest time of :17.556. He won his maiden in his second start and then scored his second win in his John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge trial, his fifth out.
B. Russel Hadley rides Rockin Disco the gelding, by first crop sire Rock Solid Jess, from the eighth post position.
On Sunday afternoon, top older quarter horses sprint 400 yards in the Grade 3, $30,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap.
