Hes Too Icy For Me Tries To Regain Form in Brigand Stakes

RUIDOSO, NM—AUGUST 13, 2012—Delores and Robert Gerhardt’s Hes Too Icy For Me, winner of the 2010 Rainbow Futurity, may have found the spot to regain his winning form when he starts in a contentious $20,000 Brigand Stakes over 550 yards on Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.

First post time returns to the usual 1 p.m. for the Saturday program.

It’s been an all or little career for Hes Too Icy For Me. He has four wins – all as a two-year-old from 16 career starts with no seconds or no thirds. However, he has earned $354,327 mainly on the strength of his win in the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity. He then won his All American Futurity trial and finished fourth in the All American Juvenile as the 7-10 favorite That All American Futurity trial win two years ago is his most recent victory.

Casey Lambert rides the First Down Dash gelding for the first time with the seventh post position.

Carlos Martinez’s Oh Hard To Sell may be ready to step up to the win after finishing second in his previous three races, all at 400 yards. This spring at Sunland Park he was a close second in a $31,000 allowance race and then a $32,000 allowance race, his most recent start back in March.

Oh Hard To Sell has the third post position with Jaime Parga Leos aboard.
