Two-year-old action in the West Coast will get under at Los Alamitos Race Course on Friday and Saturday night.

Twenty-Six Babies To Compete On Friday Night At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 10, 2014—Dutch Masters III’s Forget It, a full brother to Holiday Handicap winner She Forgives, and Howard Nichols’ Jess Being Valiant, a full brother to A Ransom Handicap winner Jess A Valiant Hero, are among the 2-year-olds that will debut on Friday at Los Alamitos.

A total of 26 babies will race in one of the four events carded at 300 yards on Friday. First post time is 7 p.m. (PDT).

To be ridden by Carlos Huerta for trainer Jaime Gomez, Forget It will compete in the second race on Friday after posting a couple of sharp morning drills. Bred by Ed Allred, Forget It had the 10th fastest of 43 drills at 220 yards on March 18 and the third fastest of 49 drills on March 29. He’ll break from post number four.

She Forgives ran second in last year’s Kindergarten Futurity while also racing in the Ed Burke Million Futurity, PCQHRA Breeders Futurity and the La Primera Derby. She’ll take on a field that includes Ron Hartley’s Hes Jess Roni, a half brother to the stakes winner Ronsepi. Sired by 2010 World Champion Apollitical Jess, Hes Jess Roni is one of three babies owned by Hartley and trained by John Cooper debuting on Friday.

Hartley will also see his cerise silks being carried by Jess A Habit in the fifth race and Ivalreadygone in the seventh. The fifth race will also feature Flying Porsche Girl, a half sister to Grade 1 winner Snitcher.

Seven 2-year-olds will be in action in the sixth race on Friday night with Ed Allred’s Separatist gelding Discontent one to watch after posting the second fastest of 20 drills on March 20. Discontent is out of the mare Reeds Val, who won the QHBC Distaff in 1999 and was a finalist to the 1997 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.

Lisa Beauprez and Thomas Bradbury and Thomas Bradbury Jr.’s Wild Sixes Cartel will also compete in the sixth race. The son of Coronal Cartel is out of the mare Wild Six, the winner of the 2007 Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity and Grade 1 West Texas Futurity.

A group of freshman sprinters will also compete in the seventh race on the card. In addition to Ivalreadygone and Jess A Valiant Chick, David and Ross Hinkins’ First Down Chalala will also be in action. Sired by First Down Dash, this filly is a half-sister to Chalalita, who has already raced in the Governor’s Cup Futurity, Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, Los Alamitios Winter Derby and La Primera Del Ano Derby.

A field of 3 and 4-year-old sprinters will compete in an $11,025 test in Friday’s eighth race at 330 yards. The field will include Lila Kessinger’s stakes winner Tell Of The Past, who in addition to winning the John Deere California Juvenile also ran third in the El Primero Del Ano Derby. Mike Casselman will saddle the gelding by Teller Cartel. Ed Allred’s More Than Wild, fourth in last year’s Governor’s Cup Futurity, is among the runners that will see action in the eighth on Friday.

Babies And Allowance Event Heads Saturday Card

Ed Allred’s will be represented by several outstanding babies when 2-year-olds are showcased in a pair of Quarter Horse races on Saturday at Los Alamitos. First post is set for 6:30 p.m.

Allred’s babies will be led by half-brothers A Dashing Looker and He Looks Hot, a pair of juveniles out of the stakes winning mare Look Her Over which will start from bookend post positions in the sixth race on Saturday at 300 yards.

Scott Willoughby will saddle the half-siblings with A Dashing Looker starting from post number one and He Looks Hot starting from post number six. Sired by Walk Thru Fire, the colt He Looks Hot is a full brother to Katella Handicap and Gary Wood Handicap winner Once Over, who is currently one of the top older horses in training at Los Alamitos. A Dashing Looker is sired by Tr Dasher and is a full brother to recent maiden winner Look Of A Dasher.

RTM Stables LLC and George Weldon’s Ynot Walk is one to watch in this race after posting the second fastest of 20 drills at 220-yards on March 27. Three others will compete.

Allred will be represented in the third race by the Stel Corona filly Too Gabby, who posted the fastest of 50 drills on March 25. Out of PCQHRA Breeders Derby finalist Chickafirst, Too Gabby is from the family of stakes winners Hard Hitting and Hot Hitter.

Pazazz Quarterhorses Ltd’s Foxxey Lady will also debut in this race for trainer Connie Hall. The filly is a half-sister to 2009 Ed Burke Million Futurity co-winner Streakin Laquinta. Lucas Racing, Inc.’s Jacquie O, who is a full-sister to champion Carters Cartel and a half-sister to major stakes winners Flash First, Tac It Like A Man and Imjumpn, will also race in this third. Corona Cartel is the sire of Jacquie O, who is out of the champion stakes winner Jumpn Tac Flash.

The card will feature an allowance event for 3-year-olds led by Allred’s Uncas Handicap runner-up Mesa Marvel at 330-yards. Other talented runners in this event are Los Alamitos Winter Derby finalist Energized and Freshman Stakes runner-up Diamonds N Dynasty.
