SELMA, TX—JULY 31, 2014—The $15,000 Colors of The Alamo will be the first of a double feature this Saturday at Retama Park as Paints and Appaloosas take center stage. The Colors of The Wind worth $10,000 makes up the second half of the double feature.

The two-year-olds will dash 350 yards in The Colors Of The Alamo as VP Slick Winner is fresh off of his maiden victory for Trainer Jose Espinosa. The two time starter is just one of two horses in the race that have run at Retama.

The young son of Dos Paruno will be ridden by Cipriano Vidana. Jewel Time and Damien Martinez just finished right behind VP Slick Winner in the maiden affair and draws the outside post for The Colors Of The Alamo. One of several Oklahoma arrivals is Furious Snow who just missed in his last two starts in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

The Colors of The Wind will bring out older horses at 350 yards in the $10,000 dash. There is but one Appaloosa in the total of both stakes races Saturday and she goes by the name of Paint This Kitty. Owned by Jeff Adams of Durant Oklahoma and Trained by Travis Mullins, Paint This Kitty is a four-year-old filly taking on older boys and girls.

The daughter of Pyc Paint This Wagon rose to the call in her last two starts at Remington Park where she sizzled at 350 yards in :17:52 and 300 yards in :15:62. Jockey Ivan Carnero has the call.

She and others will have their work cut out for them as PF Chief Runnin Bear will look to retain his crown. You see the Chief has won this race seemingly every year, one has to wonder how long can he keep that up? But we ask ourselves that question every year, and every year he wins.

Saturday race action gets underway at 6:45 pm with $1.50 Bud Light draft being the special of the night.
