Dude Biggs’ DB Captain King is the 3-1 morning-line favorite for Friday’s Nevill Document Solutions Stakes, the feature race on Lone Star Park’s opening-night program.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 17, 2014—Dude Biggs’ DB Captain King is the 3-1 morning-line favorite for Friday’s $20,000 Nevill Document Solutions Stakes, the feature race on Lone Star Park’s opening-night program.

A homebred 3-year-old son of Captain Courage trained by L.R. “Tooter” Jordan, DB Captain King will be making his first start since July 26, when he ran sixth, one length behind winner BP Wagon Train, in the 400-yard, $174,000 Retama Park Derby (G3). The gelding won both of his outs during the 2014 Sam Houston Race Park meet, including the $59,000 Adequan Sam Houston Derby Challenge (G3) on May 11.

G.R. Carter Jr. will ride DB Captain King from post 8 on Friday.

Other contenders include Vanessa Bartoo’s Mr Taka B, a 5-year-old gelded son of Feature Mr Jess trained by John Stinebaugh. Mr Taka B is coming off of a second-place finish to Stimulus in the 400-yard, $35,000 TQHA Classic Stakes (R) for Texas-breds at Retama on July 25.

Charal Kid, a homebred 8-year-old gelding by the late Streakin La Jolla racing for Malinche Cattle Co. Inc. from the barn of Adrian Huitron, drew post 7. Charal Kid has won 18 of 51 outs and has earned $511,619, and his two wins in seven starts at Lone Star include a victory in the 2012 Refrigerator Handicap (G1).
