Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity Trials Draw 61 Entries

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 2, 2015—A total of 61 two-year-olds have been entered in Friday’s 300-yard Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (G1) trials at Remington Park.

Royal Snowman, a 220-yard training race winner on February 11, drew the rail post in the second of seven trials. A homebred gelding by SM Country Snowman owned and trained by Todd D. Lacey, Royal Snowman won his schooling race in :13.49. James Flores will ride the gelding in Friday’s trial.

Nolan D. Pevehouse’s Painted Turnpike, a homebred PYC Paint Your Wagon colt trained by Matt Whitekiller, drew post 7 in the fifth heat. Painted Turnpike prepped for his debut with a 220-yard training race win in :13.62 on February 12.

Cody Smith has been named to ride Painted Turnpike in the trials.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $55,000-added Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity final on March 21.
