FARMINGTON, NM—JULY 29, 2015—Regal First Moon, a stakes winning daughter of champion First Moonflash owned by Regal Racing Stables LLC, will make her first start in four months in Sunday’s 400-yard, $50,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Stakes (RG2) for state-bred sophomores at SunRay Park.
Regal First Moon has won her last two outs, including the 350-yard, $85,000 Sunburst Stakes (RG3) at Sunland Park on March 29. The filly drew post 3 and will be ridden by Jesse Levario for trainer Ramon Rivera on Sunday.
Other contenders include Richard E. Ford’s First Power Flash, a sorrel filly by First Moonflash who will be making her season debut from post 1. Trained by Lonnie Vaughn, First Power Flash has earned $53,648 from seven outs, and her race record includes a second-place finish to Montauk in last year’s 400-yard New Mexico State Fair Senorita Futurity (RG3) at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Albert Medrano will ride First Power Flash.
