FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 4, 2016—Roberto Marquez’s Stick Shift SC drew post 1 for Sunday’s 300-yard, $30,000 La Plata Stakes at SunRay Park.

An 8-year-old son of Get Down Perry trained by Carolina Gaytan, Stick Shift SC is coming off of a Hialeah Park winter campaign during which the gelding won all three of his starts, including the 300-yard, $30,000 Lucky Loser Stakes on February 28, and earned $41,648. Jaime Parga Leos will ride Stick Shift SC in the La Plata, which represents the gelding’s first ever start at SunRay.

Other contenders include Unfinished Biz, a 3-year-old Captain Courage filly who will be facing her elders for the first time. Trained by Cody Reynolds for owners Bill and Susan Nice, Unfinished Biz will be cutting back in distance off of her head victory at odds of 16-1 in the April 22, 400-yard Animas Stakes for sophomores.

Unfinished Biz drew post 7 and will be ridden by Sergio Dominguez.
