Graded 3 winner Cjs Rocksolid will head a full field in Sunday’s 870-yard, $50,000 Herman Jefferson Stakes (G3) at Zia Park.

HOBBS, NM—SEPTEMBER 30, 2016—CJs Rocksolid, a homebred 6-year-old Rock Solid Jess gelding racing for Rockin J Running Horses, drew post 8 for Sunday’s 870-yard, $50,000 Herman Jefferson Stakes (G3) at Zia Park.

Trained by Tammy Johnson, CJs Rocksolid is coming off of a second-place finishes in the July 24, $50,000 AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge (G3) at Albuquerque Downs, and August 7, $30,000 Master Salls Handicap at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding will be ridden by J.R. Valenzuela on Sunday.

Other contenders include Straight From Texas, a 3-year-old Fantastic Corona Jr gelding owned and trained by Robert C. Williams Jr. Straight From Texas outran his 14-1 odds to win the 870-yard, $20,000 Bill Reed Memorial Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on September 2.

Straight From Texas drew the rail post and will be ridden by Larry Gamez.
