Schooling races will continue this week at Remington Park with anticipation of Friday's opening day for the 2017 American Quarter Horse Meet.

Schooling Races Continue Wednesday at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 6, 2017—Remington Park will host another 11 schooling races on Wednesday (Mar. 8). Conditions for 10 of those races will be for 2-year-old American Quarter Horse, Paints and Appaloosas.

First post is set for 11:00 a.m. (CST) and all races will be contested over 250 yards. The public is invited to attend.

Among the 'Summer Sale' yearling highlights making their debut on Wednesday are Intense Fire for trainer Clinton Crawford in Race 3.

Owned by the partnership of Merrill, Cullum and Crispi, Intense Fire is a colt by leading sire Walk Thru Fire from the Corona Cartel mare Remember Me Rose. Winner of 2007 Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby, Remember Me Rose is the dam of two stakes-placed runners from five foals to race. Consigned by Burns Ranch, Agent for James G. Markum, Intense sold for $70,000.

Race four will feature One Tempting Eagle, a $45,000 Heritage Place Fall Mixed graduate by last year's leading sire of money earners One Famous Eagle. Trainer Dustin Cox will saddle the half-brother to champion/champion sire Tempting Dash for owner John Cornwell.

Trainer Jason Olmstead will send out Dacall, a $38,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, in Race 8 for owner Tom Sheckel. The son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon is a brother to Grade 3 winner First Prize Shaunda and restricted Grade 3 winner Barue. His dam, First Prize Leesa, won the 2009 Remington Park Futurity(G1).

Tellem Im Rockin, a $34,000 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale graduate will start in the final race (11) for owner/trainer Gerald Reed. The son of multiple stakes sire Teller Cartel is from the Grade 1 winning Feature Mr Jess Mar Feature Jess Rockin.

Horsemen and women who cannot attend the schooling races may go to www.oqhra.com and watch the races under the "Racing-Training Races" tab. A replay of the race should be available to view within 3-5 minutes following each training race.

This should be available to users on their desktop, laptop or mobile applications. OQHRA officials said it may take a few minutes longer for the first race of the day to upload, but once the link has been established they will roll up after each race.

Training results will be posted on StallioneSearch.com and the OQHRA website as soon as they become available Wednesday afternoon.
