OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH aa, 2017—Johnny Trotter’s Bodacious Eagle, a Grade 1-winning son of One Famous Eagle, is one of 10 sprinters entered in Sunday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G3) at Remington Park.

A 5-year-old gelding trained by Trey Wood, Bodacious Eagle will be making his season debut and his first start since September 4, when he placed fourth in the 440-yard, $200,000 All American Gold Cup (G1) at Ruidoso Downs. Bodacious Eagle’s resume includes a second-place finish, a head behind winner AJs High, in last year’s Eastex Stakes.

Bodacious Eagle drew post 10 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez. His nine opponents include The Fiscal Cliff, a homebred 4-year-old Pyc Paint Your Wagon stallion trained by Kasey Willis for owner Tom Lepic of Iowa City, Iowa. The Fiscal Cliff ended his sophomore campaign with a clear two-length victory in the 400-yard, $126,000 Polk County Derby (R) for Iowa-bred 3-year-olds at Prairie Meadows on October 15.

Cesar Gomez will ride The Fiscal Cliff from post 9.

Also on Sunday, a full field of 10 Oklahoma-breds has been entered in the 250-yard, $61,800 Mighty Deck Three Stakes (R).

Reigning AQHA champion trainer Judd Kearl will send out Wyok Ranch LLC’s Valiant Rogue, a Grade 1-winning son of Valiant Hero who will be making his first start against older runners on Sunday. The gelding is coming off of a 3-year-old campaign during which he scored a 1 3/4-length win in the 440-yard, $1,224,000 Rainbow Derby (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Valiant Rogue drew the rail post and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo.

Tempting Valor, a 5-year-old Tempting Dash gelding trained by Stacy Charette-Hill for owner Brenda Flores, returns to Oklahoma off of his fifth-place finish, one length behind winner AJs High, in the 440-yard, $354,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Los Alamitos in October. A stakes winner during the Canterbury Park meet in Minnesota, the gelding drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jorge Torres.
