Rare Midweek Graded Stakes Doubleheader Set for Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 3, 2017—Valiant Rogue, a 4-year-old Valiant Hero gelding trained by Judd Kearl for owner Wyok Ranch LLC, will seek his second stakes win of the current Remington Park meet in Thursday’s 350-yard, $61,800 Mr Jet Moore Stakes (RG2).

Valiant Rogue will be stretching out in distance off of his nose victory as the 5-2 favorite in the 250-yard, $62,000 Mighty Deck Three Stakes (R) on March 12. The gelding has earned $632,902 from 14 outs, and his six wins include a 1 3/4-length score in last year’s 440-yard, $1,224,000 Rainbow Derby (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Valiant Rogue drew post 3 and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo. His seven opponents include Terry Baber’s Sam Crow, a 5-year-old son of Valiant Hero who ran a close second to Valiant Rogue in the Mighty Deck Three. Trained by Trey Wood, the gelding ran second, a half of a length behind champion AJs High, in last year’s Mr Jet Moore.

Sam Crow drew post 6 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Pauls Valley Stakes

Admiral Zoomwalt, a 5-year-old son of Shazoom racing for Terry McLean of Claremore, Oklahoma, is one of eight distance specialists entered in Thursday’s 870-yard, $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes (G3).

Trained by Gerry McLean, Admiral Zoomwalt has won two of his four outs at the 870 trip, both against stakes company last year at Fair Meadows at Tulsa and Will Rogers Downs. The gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by James Flores.
