FARMINGTON, NM—APRIL 18, 2017—A full field of 10 3-year-olds, headed by futurity winners Jm Country Man and Mahoney N Tacklebery, has been entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $30,000 Animas Stakes, the feature race on SunRay Park’s opening-day program on Friday.

Jm Country Man is a gelded son of champion Mr Jess Perry trained by Cynthia Gonzalez for owner J & M Racing and Farm of Monahans, Texas. The gelding brings in a two-race winning streak that includes a one-length victory at odds of 21-1 in last year’s 400-yard La Fiesta Futurity at Albuquerque Downs.

Jm Country Man drew post 5 and will be ridden by Mauro Salcedo.

Mahoney N Tacklebery races for Ben Peterson from the barn of trainer Todd Fincher. A homebred son of Favorite Cartel, the gelding has earned $114,839 from 10 starts, and his four wins include a one-length score in last year’s 350-yard, $107,000 Western States Breeders’ Futurity at Casper, Wyoming.

Mahoney N Tacklebery drew post 4 and will be ridden by Alfredo Sigala.
