OGDEN, UT—MAY 5, 2017—A full field of 10 2-year-olds, topped by fastest qualifier Yourdarkestnitemare, has been entered back in Saturday’s 300-yard, $73,885 Hadley/Giles Memorial Futurity at Weber Downs.

A black daughter of Favorite Cartel trained by Martha Maldonado for owner Giovani Ortiz, Yourdarkestnite mare made her debut with a one-length victory in the 10th of 13 trials on April 22. The filly, a $6,200 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jose Guzman.

Panthers Fast Dash, a Coronas Fast Dash gelding owned and trained by Julio Corral and the second-fastest qualifier, drew post 4 and will be ridden by Oscar Cervantes. One of only two finalists with more than one previous out, Panthers Fast Dash broke his maiden in the 13th Hadley/Giles Memorial Futurity trial.

Also on Saturday, One Sweet Fool will make his second start of the season in the 350-yard, $19,515 Jake Kapp Memorial Stakes. A homebred One Sweet Jess gelding trained by Jay Pitcher for owners Kirk Woolf and Ralph Hartline, One Sweet Fool was a finalist in last year’s $107,000 Western States Breeders’ Futurity (R) in Wyoming and $119,Bitterroot Futurity (R) in Idaho. The gelding drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jose Figueroa.
