Jess Ravin Goes For Sixth Local Stakes Win In Grade 3 Miss Princess Saturday At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MAY 10, 2017—The first official pari-mutuel race meet at Los Alamitos Race Course took place in December of 1951. Since then, hundreds of thousands of horses have left the starting gate and competed in exciting races at the Orange County oval.

In more than six decades of racing here there have been 1,750 Quarter Horses that have won at least one stakes races at Los Alamitos Race Course. Only 98 of those, however, have managed to win at least five stakes.

EG High Desert Farms’ Jess Ravin is one of the 98, as the Corona Cartel mare has been in the winner’s circle following wins in the La Pacifica, Vandy’s Flash and Las Damas Handicaps in 2016 and after the Flare For Toby and Corona Kool handicaps in 2017.

Jess Ravin will now look to become the 67th Quarter Horse to win at least six stakes races at the Frank Vessels built track when she faces eight rivals in the Grade 3 $35,000 Miss Princess Handicap at 350 yards on Saturday night. Jesus Rios Ayala will ride the Yanet Rodriguez-trained mare from post number eight.

Spackman Racing’s Time For Jess, winner of the Adequan California Derby, will also race. She was third in last year’s Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby. Long Beach Handicap winner Zendaya, Flare For Toby runner-up All Right Now, recent allowance winner Rutila.

Apollitical Dasher, Unfinished Biz, Micheles Jess and Bring Me Home will also race. Courtesy of www.losalamitos.com.
