HOUSTON, TX—MAY 16, 2017—Pete Scarmardo’s Dash Quick Perry, a homebred Down N Dash gelding who is a graded stakes placed during the current meet, is one of eight sprinters entered in Friday’s 350-yard, $15,000 Sam Houston Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park.

Dash Quick Perry is coming off of a third-place finish, a neck behind winner So Rapido, in the 350-yard, $198,000 Sam Houston Derby (G3) on April 29. The sophomore gelding has earned $23,847 from two outs this season.

Dash Quick Perry will be making his first start against aged runners in this race. The gelding drew post 8 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon for trainer Leon Bard.

My Moment Of Fame, a 4-year-old Jumpn Chic gelding trained by Angel Sanchez for owner Holly Hooper, will be shortening in distance and dropping in class off of his fourth-place finish, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner and reigning world champion Jessies First Down, in the 440-yard, $103,000 Bank of America Texas Challenge (G2) at Sam Houston on April 22. My Moment Of Fame drew the rail post and will be ridden by Jose I. Martinez.
