AJAX, ONT—MAY 19, 2017—Ruth F. Barbour’s Country Boy 123 is one of 16 aged sprinters entered in Sunday’s 300-yard Picov Maturity trials at Ajax Downs.

Country Boy 123 will be making his first start since October 29, when the 4-year-old son of champion Country Chicks Man ran fourth, one length behind winner Jess Good Reason, in the 400-yard, $202,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Los Alamitos, his first-ever start away from Ajax Downs. The gelding drew the rail post and will be ridden by Cory Spataro for trainer Bryn Robertson in the second of two trials.

Fast Man Vic, a 5-year-old Mighty Invictus gelding trained by Greg Watson for owner Full Circle Racing, will make his season debut in the first heat. Fast Man Vic is coming off of a 4-year-old campaign during which he won five of 11 starts, including the 440-yard, $70,000 Bank of America Ajax Challenge Championship on August 21.

Fast Man Vic drew post 7 and will be ridden by Julian Serrano.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $50,000-added Picov Maturity final on June 4.
