FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 31, 2017—Eduardo J. Lugo’s Mountain Holme, a graded stakes placed daughter of Gone To The Mountain trained by Jimmy Guerra Jr., will make his next start in Friday’s 350-yard Four Corners Futurity trials at SunRay Park.
Mountain Holme is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Suenos Dineros, in the April 15, 300-yard West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park. A $4,400 purchase at last year’s Texas QHA Yearling Sale, the filly has earned $50,702 from three starts.
Mountain Holme drew the rail post and will be ridden by Daniel Amaya in the third of four trials.
Osbaldo Blue Diamond, a homebred filly by Osbaldo trained by Ruben Leyba Jr. for owner Hubaldo Solis of Peralta, New Mexico, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the fourth heat. Osbaldo Blue Diamond has banked $22,558 from four outs, and her resume includes a second-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Wdc Woody B Fast, in the May 14, 350-yard New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity (RG3) at SunRay.
Ruben Calderon will ride Osbaldo Blue Diamond from post 7.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $80,000-est. Four Corners Futurity final on June 18.
