Arapahoe Park Ends Meet With QH Stakes Doubleheader

AURORA, CO—AUGUST 12, 2017—Arapahoe Park will end its 2017 season on Sunday, as the track presents a Quarter Horse stakes doubleheader topped by the 400-yard, $30,000-added Arapahoe Park Futurity.

Santos Lopez’s Dee Favorite Girl, a brown daughter of Favorite Cartel, drew post 4 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer Miguel Pena. Dee Favorite Girl has won two of three starts and has banked $21,930, and her resume includes a fourth-place finish, one length behind winner Pv Queen Bee Candy, in the 330-yard, $61,800 FL Lady Bugs Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park on May 29.

Indomable Cartel, a bay colt by The Louisiana Cartel trained by Luz Chavira for owner Mariano Cornejo, will be stretching out in distance off of his 1 3/4-length victory in the July 15, 330-yard Cherry Creek Futurity (R) for Colorado-breds. Indomable Cartel drew post 3 and will be ridden by Fernando Fonseca-Soto.

Arapahoe Park Sprint Bonus Challenge

Cesar Nunez’s Attack The Wind, a winner of both of his outs during the meet, drew the rail post for Sunday’s 300-yard, $24,825 Arapahoe Park Sprint Bonus Challenge.

The lone 3-year-old in the eight-horse field and a finalist in the April 1, 400-yard West Texas Derby (G3) at Sunland Park, Attack The Wind is a gelded son of Walk Thru Fire trained by Eliazar Salas. Daniel Valles will ride Attack The Wind on Sunday.
