NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 22, 2017—Five sprinters, headed by the 4-year-old Texas-bred stallion Jess Bein The Hero, have been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $25,000 Esplanade Stakes at Fair Grounds Racecourse.
Trained by Miguel Rodriguez for owner Juan F. Martinez-Labastida, Jess Bein The Hero will be making his first start since June 24, when the stallion scored a neck victory in the June 24, 400-yard Miss Polly Classic Stakes (G3) at Delta Downs. Jess Bein The Hero has earned $48,000 from four starts this year, and his season resume includes a pair of stakes victories at Louisiana Downs during that track’s winter meet.
Jess Bein The Hero drew post 4 and will be ridden by Santiago Mendez.
