Ten Quarter Horse Stakes Winners In Action On Friday Night

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 22, 2017—Ten stakes winners including 2015 champion 2-year-old gelding Ima Fearless Hero will be part of an all Quarter Horse racing card on Friday night at Los Alamitos. First post is 7:30 p.m. (PDT).

The outstanding card will feature the first ever running of the $15,000 Blue Grass Bounce Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at 330 yards and also a pair of allowance races replete with stakes winners.

Sired by Pritzi Dash, Blue Grass Bounce won the Restricted Grade 1 Governor’s Cup Derby in 2001 and competed in a total of 11 stakes races. The winner of $242,367 raced for D. Wayne Lukas and Laura Lukas.

J. Francisco Diaz’s One Sweet Runner, the fastest qualifier to this year’s Governor’s Cup Derby, will head the Blue Grass Bounce. The filly will face multiple stakes winner Scholarly, the Grade 3 stakes placed runner Tough To Figure, and Rayshas Pink Sky, owner of some of the fastest clockings' of the season. The Blue Grass Bounce is the 8th race.

Allowance races will be featured in the sixth and seventh race. S-Quarter K LLC’s Ima Fearless Hero, winner of the 2015 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, returns for the first time since running in the Los Alamitos Winter Championship.

He’ll face stakes winners My Favorite Check and Viento Negro in the sixth. Thermonuclear Energy, a stakes winner in 2015, will face stakes winners Nymph, First N Final and several other top aged mares in the seventh race.
