Bound To Bet Goes For Three At 870-Yards On Friday At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 26, 2017— Ed Allred’s Bound To Bet will go after his third victory in as many starts at 870 yards when he leads the field in Friday’s $18,000 Truly A Pleasure Handicap at Los Alamitos.

The Snowbound gelding will enter this stakes event, which is scheduled as the fifth race of eight on the card, after scoring a 4 1/2 length allowance victory around the turn on August 11.

He also broke his maiden at this distance on June 30. In between those two victories, Bound To Bet sharpened his quickness with a solid third place finish when competing in the 550 Yard Sophomore Stakes on the California Breeders Champions Night program on July 30.

Bound To Bet will now make his stakes debut at his preferred 870-yard distance against a strong field that includes the red-hot distance runners Stretch and Prophetinparadise. Gary Boag will ride the Scott Willoughby-trained Bound To Bet from the outside post number six.

Jose Avalos and Jose Izarraras’ Stretch comes in after winning each of his last three starts. Two of those came here at night, while the other came during the daytime meet here in July. Prophetinparadise has also won three in a row, headed by a 5 1/4 length win here during the day.
